About Stella Charters
Welcome Aboard!
Stella Charters Captain Eric invite you and your guests to embark on a memorable fishing adventure cruising on Maryland’s beautiful Chesapeake Bay! If you are a highly skilled angler or new to the fishing world, Captain Eric will share the basics on light tackle jigging, trolling and live lining to provide the best charter experience possible and to have fun catching fish! While the renowned striped bass (rockfish) are the main target on our Chesapeake Bay fishing charters, we do catch other species including
perch, catfish, spot and bluefish. The unique fisheries and wildlife offered on the Chesapeake Bay are waiting for you to book your Stella Charter!
The Stella Boat
Stella is a 2020 NauticStar 28XSOffshore, a serious fishing boat that also provides great comfort on the water. The 28XS is 28’4” long and 9’8” wide center console. The hull design is 21 degrees deadrise at the transom for stability at rest and 50 degrees at the bow providing a soft ride in rougher waters. The extreme bow flair allows for more comfort and displaces the water away from the passengers. The hull also has a reverse chine that helps the boat plane quickly, giving it more lift for a high and dry ride
with an open center console and enclosure for the cold morning trips. Stella is powered by twin F300XCA horsepower Yamaha Outboard engines which get you to your fishing locations faster than traditional charter boats. Spend more time fishing vs driving to the fish!

Meet The Captain
Meet Captain Eric Goodrich of Stella Charters
USCG Licensed Captain Eric Goodrich was born and raised in Upstate New York. Spending countless hours fishing and hunting, Eric acquired a vast amount of nautical knowledge when he became a mate on a charter boat on Lake Ontario.
Earning a four-year college degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management, as well as employment at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Eric moved to Maryland to start a career in environmental restoration. He started, owned and operated his own environmental restoration company that specialized in stream restoration, wetland construction and shoreline stabilization. With over 30 years in the environmental field, Eric gained a phenomenal amount of knowledge about the Chesapeake Bay, local streams, surrounding watersheds, currents, tides and hydrology.
Eric holds many professional certifications, including Chesapeake Bay Landscape, Maryland Tree Expert, and ISA Certified Arborist. His genuine interest and dedication to fisheries and wildlife management led Eric to start Stella Charters LLC in January 2023. He earned his USCG Captain License for uninspected vessels for six passengers or less up to 100gt/100 miles offshore.
Serious and recreational fishing for the last 7 years, Eric is grateful for the knowledge he has acquired from friends and other charter captains. He is ready to share that knowledge and “pay it forward” with guests who are ready to venture out on the Chesapeake Bay aboard the Stella Charter!
